Hello! I'm Betsy, the pattern maker behind SBCC patterns.
I'm a shorty at 5ft 1" and clothing just never looked as good on me as it did on my tall friends. Garments off the rack just never looked right and no way was I going to waste my precious time and materials sewing something that wasn't going to be something I loved.
I've been a professional pattern maker in the garment industry for 20 years working for major retailers, small startups and famous designers. I've been lucky enough to work with some of the most talented fashion designers in the business that taught me how to really see a garment. How to tweak shapes just so that it instantly transforms with minor adjustments. SBCC gives me the opportunity to apply these skills for you- to eliminate the guesswork of alterations and make clothing that you will love for a long time.
But I'm not a petite, can I still use SBCC patterns?
SBCC patterns are not just vertically shrunken patterns. Nope, it's all in the details from the length of the sleeves to where the neckline hits. Each pattern represents my unique approach to fitting. If you are an average height person you are more than welcome here. Each pattern comes with lengthen/shorten lines to make SBCC work for you.
